SUMMER LOVIN'

When asked what people's favorite season is 25% of the time the answer is sweet, sweet Summer.

I mean what is not to love?

The sun doesn't set until 8 PM, fireflies, bonfires, smores, boats, patio seating, sun dazed afternoons at the pool, and some time much needed time with the family.

Now the blissfulness of schools out, no more teachers, books, and dirty gym socks to wash lasts about 2 weeks in my house before you hear those words all parents love to hear....."IM BORED"

*cue mom death stare*

Sooooo............

Let's plan this Summer together with some of my most recommended day trips, weekend getaways, and things we can order off of Amazon to make memories that are supposed to last a lifetime. Don't worry DINKS (dual income no kids) I have stuff for you too!

I am going to break the U.S. into 4 parts for this. (Northeast, South, Mid West, and West)

NORTHEAST

Now being a Northeastern girl myself, born and raised in Massachusetts, Summer was a whole new world every year, a world where Fresh Seafood, freezing cold Atlantic waters (honestly can't comfortably get in the water up there until late July, early August.) and weekend beach getaways are a must.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

Here's a few things to do while visiting this Iconic American Location some options starting at $25.

Families:

Whale Watching Tours

Couples:

Sunset Harbor Cruise

Everyone:

Fenway Park Tour

Historical Walking Tour

MID WEST

MADISON, WISCONSIN

When you think Wisconsin it's hard not to think of two things: cheese and beer, ok three things Bratwurst. But I was fortunate enough to have my Aunt live 15 minutes from Madison and by far my favorite thing to do is go to:

Dane County Farmers' Market: Held on Saturdays from April through November at Capitol Square, Downtown Madison.

Of course in Wisconsin you also have Milwaukee

Couples:

Milwaukee Walking Food Tour with Secret Foods

Milwaukee Brewery Tour

Families:

Milwaukee Kayak Tour

SOUTH

Now I might have been born and raised in Mass but I have lived in Louisiana for 17 years. I love the saying God told Louisiana you can have good food or good weather....we chose food.

Experience the cuisine and culture first hand.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Families:

Zipline In New Orleans:

Carriage Ride:

Couples:

Food Tour:

Ghost Bus Tour:

WEST

Last but certainly not least is the Western part of the country. Now it is hard to just pick one location, but I am going with getting your kids out of the house so we are choosing

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA

Now I have a very distinct memory of going to San Diego as a kid and seeing all the Sea Lions on the rocks. You have so many options in directions you would like to go here it's hard to choose but look at just the two I looked up for you.

Families:

San Diego Whale Watching

Couples:

San Diego Sunset Dinner Sailing

Obviously, I could go on and on about the million things there is to do most likely a couple hour drive from wherever you live. I hope just showcasing just a few major things you can get into this summer whether you are wanting to take the kids out of the house for the day or if you would like to visit www.worththemilestravel.com and request for me to set you up in a nice hotel to celebrate the favorite season of at least a quarter of the population in America, I am honored to do so!
