"2025 Travel Resolutions: Turning Your New Year Goals into Amazing Adventures"

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

It's 2025!!

I know I can't believe it either. In truth I never believed it when people say the older you get the faster time goes, but here I am older, NOT OLD and I can't wrap my head around the fact that every time someone says 30 years ago my brain goes to 1970...

WRONG....it's 1995.

(In da club we are all crying about this)

With every New Year the big question is.....What is your New Year's Resolution? Some choose working out, some choose quitting a bad habit, but if traveling more was yours, this is the blog post for you.

Did you know the average adult only lasts 32 days before breaking their resolutions? But, luckily for you, you made a smart decision to hire me. While your friends are contemplating what makes them such a failure in life (I'm kidding), you can drink your martini in January knowing you have succeeded with a personally curated adventure from me. Adulting is hard and besides my ill-timed joke above, no judgement here.

The best part of the passing years further into adulthood?

You can have chocolate cake for breakfast, stay up as long as you like, buy that ridiculous hamburger chair from the store and no one is telling you what you can do.....(I do not recommend any of the above, your jeans won't fit, you will never recover from that lost sleep, after the new wears off buyer's remorse will kick in, and unfortunately lots of situations call for someone telling you what to do...honestly, you'll be calling somebody BEGGING them to tell you what to do.)

OK OK STOP BEGGING I'll tell you.....

Let's start with Travel Trends of 2025

  1. Travel is no longer how much you spent on your vacation, it's choosing to go 10 days instead of 5 exploring a destination, because you didn't spend thousands of dollars on a hotel room that you never see and putting that money towards experiences in destination.

  2. Out of Season Travel- When you choose to visit a destination out of peak season you get more for your buck and don't have to deal with the crowds.

  3. Quiet Cations- Everyday life is busy enough and taking a vacation to focus on rest and relaxation is becoming more popular with resorts opening up where their whole atmosphere is quiet and relaxation.

  4. Sustainable Travel- As I am currently working on my GSTC Certification this is not just a trend, but a way that we as travelers need to start integrating into our travel plans. If we do not keep in mind all that goes into what makes a place great and ignore what over tourism and unsustainable actions do to a place, we will not have places to visit.

Although trends come and go actually going somewhere else besides your couch never gets old.

PLANNING AHEAD

Although I have got quite the reputation for curating last-minute trips for people, don't do me like that, more importantly don't do yourself like that.

A good time frame to have a trip booked is 3-6 Months. If you have a large group going give it a good 9 months as those require contracts and increment payment obligations.

When you don't plan ahead you are left with what the hotel has to offer. (you deserve more than leftovers).

Another main hiccup in not planning ahead is budget goals become a problem. When you are booking months ahead not only do you have more room options that can fit your budget, but you have time to make payments on it. My suppliers have deposits as low as $40 and financing options available. We all know how girl math works if I break it up into smaller payments it was basically a trip for $200.... and if I pay it off months before I go on the trip it is basically free. (Don't ask it just makes sense to us).

INSURANCE

Now everyone good wife knows you pay the mortgage first and the insurance second (I love that movie, if you don't get it your missing out).

GET THE INSURANCE!!

Unlike other resolutions you can insure yours. I work with an amazing company Arch Roam Right that offers plans that fit your needs and budgets as a traveler. You can click below for a free quote. (Yes even if you didn't book with me.....) the best part is unlike our besties who are stepping on scales to see no results you see immediate results with coverage.

HIRE A TRAVEL ADVISOR/AGENT

Now I am biased but THIS. I want you to think of me as a personal trainer for your travel resolution. (If you follow me on social media you know I mean this metaphorically). When you hire a travel agent/advisor you are no different than Ashely hiring a personal trainer at the gym (except I think I'm a lot more fun and I encourage you to eat all the food on your trip). Just like a boot camp instructor I am there to motivate you with highlights of your upcoming destination, share tips and tricks, provide the tools for you to enjoy a stress-free planning process (sorry I can't control the stress on the actual trip, call a doctor or a divorce lawyer for that) and occasionally YELL at how much time you have left until you leave.

But really the best part about hurdling toward adulthood like that drink you thru in Kevin's face at the bar on Saturday night? You now can travel anywhere in the world you want. No more grabbing your teddy bear and bag full of toys while threatening your mother you're running away (unless your into that...no judgement here).

My goal as a Travel Agent and mediocre blog writer is to make sure as many people go to as many places as possible in this world or make as many people wonder what is wrong with this lady while reading, your choice.

Whether it's a day trip or that once in a lifetime bucket list trip the whole point is you took the trip.

-TAKE THE TRIP-
